Every girl needs an “it” pair of sunglasses, and what sunglasses are more iconic than those from the celebrated movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s? To celebrate the 50th anniversary of 1961 Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Oliver Goldsmith launched ‘The Manhattan’ in 2011 – an exact replica of the frame worn by Holly Golightly, played by Audrey Hepburn. The sunglasses are available in five colour-ways; the classic dark tortoiseshell with green lens, as worn in the film, as well as black, caramel split, dark wood, grape and ink.
In case you are not familiar with the brand, Oliver Goldsmith has been a family run business for over 80 years, and has been synonymous with stars and sunglasses. From Grace Kelly to Audrey Hepburn, stars have loved his designs and fashion designers approached Goldsmith to create frames that would complement their seasonal collections. Oliver Golldsmith was first to appear in Vogue and first to be endorsed by celebrities and Royals. It’s no wonder the brand is as iconic as it today.
Kate Beckinsale has been spotted around everywhere with her Black Manhattan pair. These are definitely on my “got to have it” list. I’m really hoping to get myself a black pair soon as well!
